Autumn Obsession

It's not even the end of Summer and I'm already craving cardigans, thick tights, ankle boots and my parka coat. I've definately decided that Summer isn't the season for me, I don't like getting my legs out on those rare days when it is actually warm, I don't like feeling sticky or sweaty and flip flops just give me blisters in between my toes. Yes, I definately think that Autumn is the season for me, the clothes are right up my street, the leaves turn pretty colours and it's not too cold either! (FYI, I hate Winter, yes snow's fine for the first day when you're bundled up inside going 'oooh look how pretty it is', but then it's an evil slushy devil that just wants to make me slip up and send me freezing cold.) So imagine my delight when I check my usual website haunts and notice that all the Autumn/Winter wear have started popping up! Anyway, here's a few of my favourite picks for Autumn, now I wonder if my student loan will cover all this and still leave me money for food...

1. New Look Dress: not only is it a gorgeous vintage inspired dress, the print is tiny daschuands, need I say anymore!?
2. Topshop Jersey Floral Tunic: I'm loving all the 60's/70's inspired clothing and can see this tunic, like my other Topshop tunics, fitting right into my wardrobe and being worn throughout the chillier seasons.
3. Urban Outfitters Aztec Cardigan: I can see myself living in this cardigan, it looks soo chunky and warm, I can picture myself curled up on my bed, wrapped up in this cardigan, watching a good film with a massive cup of coffee and seeing the snow fall outside(and seeth inside, I hate snow.)
4. New Look Heeled Loafers: I definately one of those people who can't wear heels in the day time (I'm 5'10), but I think these are little enough to get away with and they look insanely cute too. I'm such a huge fan of masculine shoes, but I do like how the heels gives it a more feminine edge.
5. New Look Palazzo Pants: I really want to try this trend, soo Seventies inspired, when I tried on a pair I felt like Margo from The Good Life! (It's a good feeling ;) )I'm moving even further up North when I go to Uni and I've got a feeling trousers will be a much better option that skirts and dresses when the cold weather sets in!
6. New Look Tailored Trousers: Such a lovely ink blue colour. Chinos don't really suit me (make my thighs look even more massive :/), so maybe these more tailored and fitted trousers will suit me better? Again, would be great for cold weather!
7. ASOS Brogue Boots: Mmm, aren't they divine? They look very hard wearing but yet soo pretty, if I could only get one thing off this list it would be these boots.
8. Topshop Velvet Teal Ballet Pumps: Such a beautiful colour, I love flimsy little pumps like this, but with my heffer feet and fast walking pace they don't last too long unfortunately!
9. Topshop Pyjama Inspired Jacket: I know this won't be up everyone's street, but I really like it! I think this would be really great to add to quite a plain coloured outfit.
10. Urban Outfitters Ostrich Bag: My inner old lady is crying out for this bag! The ostrich pattern reminds me of the Mulberry Tilly Ostrich bag that I love soo much, which is another reason why I like this bag.
11. Topshop Leapard Bodycon Dress: I'm not normally a fan of leopard print apart from on my nails, I really love this dress! I think it's the tan colour of the dress that makes it work for it, I think this dress could easily be dressed up with chunky heels and a leather jacket or down with a chunky black cardigan, tights and brogues.
12. ASOS Chelsea Boots: Everyone loves a Chelsea boot don't they? I thought the colour looked lovely as well.

And that's my picks for this Autumn! In other news I got into University! EEEEEEEEEEH! :') I'm going to be attending University of Cumbria, but living on the Lancaster campus, which is a good 2 and a hlaf hours away from where I live now! Since I went in through clearing it's been a bit hetic these past few days, buying things to for my accomadation, sorting Student Finance out, sorting accomadation out, going upto visit Lancaster, it's all happened so quickly! I thinking of doing a bit of a 'stuff for Uni haul', I'm not sure if people will find it interesting though? Who knows!
Thanks for reading!
Lots of love, Lottie xxx

My daily face.

Basically here's the make up I wear on a daily basis, I wish I could afford luxury cosmetics like MAC and Chanel (I really want to try Mat Lumiere!), but I'm a penniless (wannabe)student at the minute, so my lustings for luxury lipsticks, foundations and eyeshadows will just have to wait until I start earning a wage again! (Stupidly I gave up my job in Febuary!)Most of my make-up is 'drugstore' or 'high street', whatever you want to call it really, but I do have a couple of higher end products in there as well, I definately believe that if you spend a fair bit of money on it you should make sure you get your money's worth! I was about to put that I tend to go for a natural look, but I don't really! I love big lashes, big eyeliner and a load of blush, but I keep the colours I wear on my eyes very natural, lots of neutral browns and nude shades, and I only really wear lipstick on a night out. Anyway, here's my 'face' and a little review of everything too!

1. Revlon ColorStay Foundation (Oily/Combination) in Buff: I love this foundation, it's the first one I ever bought (yes, I didn't start wearing foundation till last year!), and I'm soo pleased with it. I love that it's a medium (leaning towards full ever so slightly)coverage, I like to know my foundation's on and that it's not going anywhere! It really does stay all day, I have oily skin, and I don't even have to powder with this foundation, unless it's a ridiculous hot day or I've had it on from 8 in the morning till 7/8 at night. I love it, yes it does smell of paint, but it doesn't bother me that much, some people also hate how quick drying it is, but I like that about it too.

2. Rimmel Glam'Eyes Day 2 Night 2in1 Mascara in Black: I've tried this in the Black/Brown formula, and if I'm being honest, that formula is better than the Black version in my opinion. I still really like this mascara though, it is a bit fiddly first thing in the morning if you're like me and don't wait until night time to use the volume wand. I do however find the volume wand a bit wet and clumpy though. For me, it's all about the length wand (even thought it's the same wand, but for the sake of this let's say they're different!), I definately notice a difference in my lashes when I use it. Overall I do like, but I can live without the volume bit.

3. Maybelline Colossal Volum' Express Mascara in 100% Black: I chop and change between this and the Rimmel one, or I use them both and layer this over the Rimmel mascara.I prefer this mascara to be honest, I love the big fat brush and it gives me volume and length all in one. I also really like the packaging, it looks like a bee!

4. Avon 8 in 1! Eye Palette in Neutral Tones: I'm never normally that impressed with Avon cosmetics, but I really love this palette! All really gorgeous shades, nicely pigmented and go on really nicely, love it. It's a bit of a pauper's version of the Naked Palette but without the black colours (Gunmetal and Creep), which I wouldn't wear anyway as they don't suit me! I also really want to try the Beauty UK dupe of the Naked Palette that Sara showed on her youtube!

5. Carmex in Cherry: I don't really get the hype over Carmex,I think it's ok, but then I bite my lips all the time so no wonder I never really see results! I always have to have lipbalm on though, I'm addicted!

6. Natural Collection Eyeshadow Duo in Mocha/Latte: I use the brown side (Mocha) to fill in my brows, it's a really nice eyeshadow duo to say it was about 2 quid or something!

7. Mini Benefit Erase Paste in Shade 2: Not overly keen to be honest, I use it under my bags when I need too. I think it's quite sticky, which puts me off it, but it does work a lot better when it's patted into the skin as opposed to being blended in with fingers, I got this in a kit and I will use it until I've finished it, but I wouldn't pay £18 for it.

8. Benefit Blush in Coralista: I LOVE this blush. I've worn it nearly every single day since I got it in January and I've only just started to make a dint in it, it'll last me forever and it's such a lovely colour that really suits me. The only bad thing is the packaging is now getting a bit battered from me using it all the time and lugging it around with me!

9. Benefit Boiing Industrial Strength Concealer in Shade 2: I love this concealer, it works wonders over the spots and blemishes on my chin, my only problem is the shade is too orange for me, but that's not the concealer's fault, that's the sale assistant's very bad skin tone matching fault. Because it's soo orange I have to wear it under my foundation, but it still works amazingly. I'm soo sad I've nearly finished it, I'll have to save up for another one, although my Dad's girlfriend has a full one that she never uses so I might just ask her if I can have hers!

10. Mini Benefit Stay Don't Stray Primer: It's an ok primer, I use it just to even out the colour on my eyelid and to stop it from being so oily. For such a tiny little sample it's lasted quite a long time! I think this product works really well in conjunction with the next product I'm going to mention, neither of them work amazingly without the other if you get me!

11. Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner in Recess: I got this as a freebie when I bought my blush and concealer (I had a makeover), and it's such a lovely pink nude colour, almost a blush colour. As a said above it works really well with the primer, together they make a really great base and makes my eyeshadows last all day! It has a lovely creamy texture too, almost like mousse!

12. Bourjois Liner Pinceau in Black: A really nice eyeliner, the brush took a bit of time to get use to after I'd been using a spongey felt tip one for about 2 years, but apart from that I've had no other problems with it. Really nice for doing a flicky cat eye/50's liner look, which is what I wear all the time.

So that's my everyday make up! That's actually quite a lot more products than I thought, no wonder my friend kept on complaining I took ages to get ready when we were on holiday! Have you tried any of these products, what are your thoughts on them? And what's your daily make up?
Lottie :)
